We have piloted new approaches to improve men's overall health and wellbeing and are currently reviewing our model.
Our Creative Health Project based at “The Shed”, supports men in Salford with complex needs, including mental and physical health conditions.
They engage with socially isolated & vulnerable men in Salford to raise environmental awareness and improve overall health and wellbeing.
The service uses therapeutic, strengths-based holistic support and group-based activities to engage with men using arts, culture, environment and heritage activities.
Key outcomes include:
- Promoting healthy lifestyles, healthy eating, physical activity
- Improving health and emotional wellbeing
- Raising awareness of environmental sustainability including reducing, re-using and recycling
- Promoting public transport, cycling and walking routes
Criteria for Referral:
- Male aged 18+ living in Salford
- Experiencing poor mental health or physical health (unfortunately we cannot accept referrals for people with high level mental health needs)
- Experiencing social isolation and/or vulnerabilities
- Interested in improving their health & wellbeing
